Randy Knackert - Guitar & Vocals
Elvis, Buddy, Roy. Those were my heroes and still are. I never evolved any more musically after 1969. I had to have my own band and play those old songs. It’s still a thrill, every time we play. My brother bought a guitar for me when I was 14 or 15, and I played in a band in high school. I never quite got it out of my system. When my son started playing in bands, all the memories came back.
One evening while sitting in my recliner playing my guitar, I said to my wife, “What would you think about me starting up a band? She said, “Go for it,” and I did. Marilyn took a very active role with the band. She managed 45 RPM and kept us quite busy. I’m sorry to say that Marilyn lost her 3 year fight with cancer, and passed away in October of 2007. Although she’ll be dearly missed, it was her wish that the band continue on and do well.
I also have a day job. I’ve been Plant Operations Manager for Jefferson County’s Countryside Home for over 12 years. I received my education in the US Navy (’68-’72), at Waukesha County Technical College, and other courses, plus on-the-job training. I have a son living in Glendale, Arizona, and a daughter and son-in-law in Janesville.
